CAD Designer/Drafter – Electric Power Generation and Distribution Systems

Job Overview:

Renascence Engineering holds the unique position of providing tailored design solutions for multiple engineering disciplines. The CAD Designer/Drafter – Electrical Power Systems specialist will be proficient in the design of medium and low voltage electric power generation systems, switchgear and other power transmission and distribution systems, and electrical safety and power quality monitoring systems.


Responsibilities:
  • Develop new and modify existing control system designs with minimal instruction
  • Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process
  • Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies
  • Pursue ongoing education in the field
  • Work with clients to convey competence and instill trust by provide accurate, appealing, and timely CAD designs
  • Work on a team of two to four members to achieve project goals
  • Occasional site inspections or meetings with clients. Travel ~ 5%

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 year degree in related field
  • Bachelor's or higher with certifications (preferred)
  • 5+ years experience utilizing CAD software
  • Expert in Autodesk CAD software (AutoCad) – AutoCad Electrical experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and IEC Standards
  • Knowledge of UL2200 for Electric Power Generators (EPG) for emergency standby or prime power applications, UL142 and UL2085 for diesel fuel tanks related to EPG, and UL1008, UL891, and UL1558 for Transfer Switch Equipment related to EPG
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • An abundance of patience to see a complicated project to the end
  • Ability to visualize designs in three dimensions

Salary:
  • Starting at $55,000 a year
