CAD Designer/Drafter – Industrial Fabrication

The CAD Designer/Drafter – Industrial Fabrication specialist will be proficient in the fabrication processes, especially related to steel fabrication and commercial structural designs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new and modify existing control system designs with minimal instruction
- Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process
- Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies
- Pursue ongoing education in the field
- Work with clients to convey competence and instill trust by provide accurate, appealing, and timely CAD designs
- Work on a team of two to four members to achieve project goals
- Occasional site inspections or meetings with clients. Travel ~ 5%
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 year degree in related field
- Bachelor's or higher with certifications (preferred)
- 5+ years experience utilizing CAD software
- Expert in CAD software (AutoCad and/or Inventor)
- AutoCad Mechanical experience is a plus
- Solidworks experience is a plus
- Expert skill level for producing complete production level drawing sets of parts, assemblies, and bill of materials, etc.
- Knowledge of fabrication equipment including CNC Routers, Plasma Tables, Turret Punches, Press-Breaks, Welding machines and types, plate roller, and other equipment for cutting, drilling, fastening, moving or otherwise manipulating metals and other materials, which may be large/heavy
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes including bend allowances and tube elbow pattern design
- Knowledge of structural engineering terminology and principles, especially related to steel columns and beam construction
- Minimum 5 years working in a professional fabrication environment
- Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- An abundance of patience to see a complicated project to the end
- Ability to visualize designs in three dimensions
Salary:
- Starting at $55,000 a year
