CAD Designer/Drafter – Electrical Controls

Job Overview:

Renascence Engineering holds the unique position of providing tailored design solutions for multiple engineering disciplines. We are hiring experienced and adaptable CAD designers who think outside of the box to help us reach our goals. The CAD Designer/Drafter – Electrical Controls specialist will be proficient in electrical controls related to Industrial Control Panels, Machine Control and Safety, and have a good understanding of programmable logic controllers, process instrumentation, remote telemetry / communications, and systems integration.


Responsibilities:
  • Develop new and modify existing control system designs with minimal instruction
  • Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process
  • Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies
  • Pursue ongoing education in the field
  • Work with clients to convey competence and instill trust by provide accurate, appealing, and timely CAD designs
  • Work on a team of two to four members to achieve project goals
  • Occasional site inspections or meetings with clients. Travel ~ 5%

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 year degree in related field
  • Bachelor's or higher with certifications (preferred)
  • 5+ years experience utilizing CAD software
  • Expert in Autodesk CAD software (AutoCad) – AutoCad Electrical experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of UL508A, UL698A, and Hazardous Locations Industrial Control Panels
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC)
  • Minimum 5 years working in a professional environment
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • An abundance of patience to see a complicated project to the end
  • Ability to visualize designs in three dimensions

Salary:
  • Starting at $55,000 a year
